Hatay enters Guinness with the largest mosaic

The Turkish province of Hatay has entered the Guinness World Records with the largest mosaic titled “Common Existence” in the world. This achievement comes after the completion of a massive artistic work that symbolizes tolerance and coexistence among different religions and cultures.

The mosaic was meticulously handcrafted by local artists and depicts scenes from daily life in Hatay, with a focus on the interaction among various religious and ethnic groups living in the region.

Symbol of tolerance and coexistence:

Officials from Guinness World Records praised the beauty of the mosaic and its symbolic value. They described the technical work as an “exceptional achievement” that embodies the principles of tolerance and coexistence between different cultures.

In addition, Hakan Dogan, the Governor of Hatay, expressed his pride in this artistic achievement, emphasizing that “it is a symbol of tolerance and coexistence that has characterized Hatay since ancient times.”

New Tourist Destination:

Local authorities anticipate that the “Common Existence” mosaic will become a new tourist destination attracting visitors from around the world.

Located in the city of Antakya, this artistic work was designed by the Turkish artist Mehmet Aksu. It took over two years to complete this artwork, using 20 different colors of mosaic.
