Turkish Airlines to resume flights to Libya on April 1, 2024.

The recovery and stability of the tourism sector in Turkey and Libya depend on the resumption of Turkish-Libyan flights. Turkish Airlines has recently announced that it will be resuming its flights to Libya after a long period of suspension, which is expected to significantly boost the tourism industry in both countries.

The Government of National Unity in Libya, led by Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, has confirmed that Turkish Airlines will start operating its flights from April 1, 2024. Despite the ongoing challenges, the resumption of these flights is a positive step towards restoring stability in Libya.

Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh released a statement praising the efforts made in the transportation and civil aviation sectors. He also welcomed the return of major companies to operate in Libya. He emphasized that the resumption of Turkish Airlines’ flights is a positive step that reflects the mutual trust between the two countries.

This will help in developing their bilateral relations and promote commercial and tourism exchange between Libya and Turkey. Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi announced that the company has resumed its flights to Libya, operating three flights per week. He added that tickets are available for purchase.

This decision is expected to boost the local economy and improve the overall well-being of the Libyan people. The announcement has been met with enthusiasm and approval both locally and internationally.

The Minister of Transportation in the Libyan Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Shahoubi, stated that Turkish Airlines will initially return to Mitiga Airport. Flights to the rest of the Libyan airports are expected to be resumed gradually.

The Minister of Transportation and the Turkish Ambassador to Libya also agreed to expedite the necessary procedures from both countries, in preparation for the return of Turkish Airlines.
